Summary of advice:

1) Use Google Translate App: We found the Google Translate App to be a great tool and unless you can speak the native language, to be extremely useful.  The translator can be used either in text or voice mode.

2) Use a dedicated bike touring App to find better routes more suitable for cycling. Examples are Mapout, GPS Ride and cycle.travel in UK.

3) Enjoy the local cuisine, embrace the countries culture while travelling through.

4) Locals are interested in bike tourers, stop and have a conversation, it is very rewarding and makes the journey so exciting.

5) Be flexible as plans always change!

6) Pack as light as possible, cull reguarly.
